Pashupatinath Narmadeshwar Shivling
A Pashupatinath Narmadeshwar Shivling is a Shivling carved from sacred Narmada River stone in the form of the famous Pashupatinath Lingam of Kathmandu, Nepal, with Lord Shiva’s faces carved around it. The Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu is one of the holiest Shiva shrines in the world. Its Lingam is carved with Lord Shiva’s faces looking out in every direction. The Pashupatinath Narmadeshwar Shivling recreates this sacred form in Narmada River stone, so you can worship Pashupati at home.

What is Pashupati?
Pashupati means the lord of all beings. In this form, Lord Shiva watches over and protects every living creature. The faces on the Lingam show that he sees and guards all directions.

Every stone of the Narmada is considered a form of Shiva (Narmada ke kankar, utne Shankar). Carving the Pashupatinath form in this stone joins two great traditions in one piece.

How to worship it?
- Place it on a base in the home temple, with the spout facing north.
- Do abhishek with water, milk or Gangajal on Mondays and Pradosh.
- Offer bel patra, dhatura flowers and a diya.
- Chant ॐ पशुपतये नमः (Om Pashupataye Namah) or ॐ नमः शिवाय.
How to check if it is genuine?
