A Sawar (Savar) Rudraksha is a rare form of joined Rudraksha in which one of the two joined beads has only a single line, like a 1 Mukhi. It is linked with Lord Shiva and is considered a very powerful bead. The Nepali Sawar can be worn, or kept in the puja place and worshipped.

◌ CONSULT BEFORE BUYING

Nature sometimes joins two Rudraksha beads together, as in the Gauri Shankar. In a Sawar (Savar) Rudraksha, one of the two joined beads has only a single line, like a 1 Mukhi. This rare formation gives it a special place among Rudraksha.

The Nepali Sawar is found in very small numbers. We source it directly from Nepal and always have it lab-tested, because joined beads are often faked.

What is the significance of Sawar Rudraksha?

The Sawar Rudraksha is ruled by Lord Shiva. Because one half carries the energy of a 1 Mukhi, it is seen as a strong and intense bead. Some sources call it Savar Naag and link it with Venus.

You can wear the Sawar, or keep it in your puja place and worship it. Both are traditional.

Why choose a Nepali Sawar Rudraksha?

Sawar beads are found in both Nepal and Indonesia. The Nepali Sawar is larger, with a clearer joint and deeper lines, and is rarer. The Indonesian Sawar is smaller and more affordable. For a bead to install in the home temple, the Nepali Sawar is the classic choice.

What are the spiritual benefits of Sawar Rudraksha?

  • Traditionally believed to carry the intense blessing of Lord Shiva
  • Supports deep meditation and devotion
  • Brings peace and protection to the home where it is kept
  • Supports harmony in relationships, like the Gauri Shankar
  • Valued as a rare and auspicious bead for the puja room

What are the health benefits of Sawar Rudraksha?

  • Traditionally believed to bring a calm and settled mind
  • Worn or kept by many for peace during stressful times
  • Like all Rudraksha, it is believed to calm the nervous system

Rudraksha supports your wellbeing alongside medical care. It does not replace a doctor’s advice or treatment.

Who should keep Sawar Rudraksha?

  • Devoted Shiva worshippers
  • Families who want a rare sacred bead in the home temple
  • Collectors of rare Rudraksha

How to keep or wear Sawar Rudraksha?

  1. Day and time: Monday or Mahashivratri, in the morning after bathing.
  2. Purify: Rinse it gently in Gangajal and let it dry.
  3. Offer: Place it before Lord Shiva with bel leaves, a flower and a lit diya.
  4. Chant 108 times: ॐ नमः शिवाय (Om Namah Shivaya).
  5. Keep it: In a clean silver box or on a small stand in the home temple. You can also wear it on a thread or with silver capping.

Do’s

  • Worship it on Mondays
  • Keep its place clean and calm

Don’ts

  • Do not keep it in an untidy or careless place
  • Never buy it without an X-ray report

How to identify a genuine Sawar Rudraksha?

Like the Gauri Shankar, the Sawar is often faked by gluing two beads together or by cutting lines. A genuine Sawar has a smooth, natural joint, and one half has a single natural line. An X-ray is the only reliable way to confirm it.

Every Aum Tatva bead comes with a report from RGTL (Rudraksha and Gems Testing Lab), an independent lab trusted by premium brands across India.

Where to buy original Nepali Sawar Rudraksha?

Aum Tatva is part of Aggarwal Rudraksha, a family that has traded Rudraksha for generations. Since 2003, we have sourced beads directly from Nepal through our network in Kathmandu.

  • RGTL certificate with X-ray for every bead
  • Honest advice on rare beads and how to keep them
  • A showroom in Bhoopatwala, Haridwar, to see the bead in person

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Sawar Rudraksha?

A Sawar (Savar) Rudraksha is a rare joined bead in which one of the two halves has only a single line, like a 1 Mukhi. It is linked with Lord Shiva and is considered a strong and sacred bead.

Can I wear Sawar Rudraksha?

Yes. You can wear the Sawar, or keep it in your puja place and worship it. Both are traditional.

What is the difference between Sawar and Gauri Shankar Rudraksha?

Both are two beads joined by nature. In a Gauri Shankar, both halves have several lines. In a Sawar, one half has only a single line, like a 1 Mukhi.

What is the mantra for Sawar Rudraksha?

Chant Om Namah Shivaya (ॐ नमः शिवाय) 108 times when you first install or wear the Sawar Rudraksha.

What decides the price of a Sawar Rudraksha?

The price depends on the origin, size, how natural the joint is, the clarity of the single-line half and lab certification. Nepali Sawar beads are rare, so they cost more. Message us for the current price.

How can I check if my Sawar Rudraksha is real?

An X-ray test is the only reliable way to confirm a natural joint and a true single-line half. Buy only with a report from an independent lab such as RGTL.
