According to ancient Vedas Parad is considered as one of the purest and auspicious metals. Parad has both religious and medical importance. Parad is regarded as the representation of Lord Shiva. It is used for Sadhna and If one concentrate on it and use it for worship most of his desires are fulfilled. It is said in Brahma Purana that who worships Mercury Shivling devotedly might gets full worldly pleasures, peaceful environment throughout his life and at last attains supreme destination (salvation).
