A Gauri Shankar Rudraksha is two Rudraksha beads that grow naturally joined together on the tree. It represents Lord Shiva (Shankar) and Goddess Parvati (Gauri) as one. The Nepali Gauri Shankar is traditionally worn or kept at home for harmony in marriage, family unity, loving relationships and balance between the mind and the heart.
Some Rudraksha beads stand alone. The Gauri Shankar Rudraksha is born as a pair: two beads that grow fused together on the same stem, joined by nature and not by any hand. In this rare formation, devotees see the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, the divine couple whose bond is the ideal of every Hindu marriage.
The Nepali Gauri Shankar is the most sought-after form of this bead. Its two halves are larger and fuller, with clear natural lines on each side. At Aum Tatva, we source it from Nepal and have every piece X-ray tested, because this is one of the most widely faked beads in the market.
The Gauri Shankar is a living symbol of Ardhanarishvara, the form in which Shiva and Parvati share one body, half male and half female. It stands for the balance of Shiva (pure awareness) and Shakti (creative energy), the two forces that the scriptures say hold all of creation together.
Its ruling deities are Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Many astrologers associate it with the Moon, the planet of emotions, the mind and the mother. Because it does not belong to a single mukhi count, it is treated as a special bead rather than part of the 1 to 21 Mukhi series.
Gauri Shankar beads grow in both Nepal and Indonesia. The Indonesian pair is small and light, and works well in a bracelet or a mala. The Nepali pair is larger, with deeper lines and a more defined joint between the two halves.
Traditionally, the Nepali Gauri Shankar is preferred as a single pendant or as a bead to place in the home temple, where its size and presence matter. It is also the form most families choose to gift at weddings.
Rudraksha supports your wellbeing alongside medical care. It does not replace a doctor’s advice or treatment.
It is also a meaningful wedding or anniversary gift.
We sort every Gauri Shankar Rudraksha into five grades by bead size, shape, how clear the lines are, and surface and colour. Every grade is a genuine, natural bead with an RGTL report.

We want to be honest: the Gauri Shankar is one of the most faked Rudraksha beads. The common trick is to take two ordinary beads, cut each one flat on one side and glue them together. To the naked eye, a good fake can look real.
That is why every Gauri Shankar we sell comes with a report from RGTL (Rudraksha and Gems Testing Lab), an independent lab trusted by premium brands across India.
Aum Tatva belongs to the Aggarwal Rudraksha family, in the trade for generations and as Aum Tatva since 2003. We source Gauri Shankar beads directly from Nepal through our network in Kathmandu.

Gauri Shankar Rudraksha is traditionally worn for harmony in marriage, love between partners and unity in the family. It represents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati together. Many people also wear it to balance emotions and to support meditation.
Yes, unmarried people can wear Gauri Shankar Rudraksha. It is traditionally worn by those seeking a suitable life partner, with the blessings of Shiva and Parvati. It also supports good relationships with parents, siblings and friends.
Yes, husband and wife can both wear a Gauri Shankar Rudraksha, each their own bead. Many couples instead keep one bead in the home temple and worship it together on Mondays. Both ways are considered auspicious.
You can do either. Wearing it keeps the bead close to you through the day. Keeping it in the puja room is believed to bless the whole household. Many families keep a large Nepali Gauri Shankar at home and wear a smaller one.
The only reliable way is an X-ray test, which shows whether the two beads are naturally joined inside. A glued fake may show a thin adhesive line or a sharp edge at the joint. Always buy a Gauri Shankar with a lab report, such as one from RGTL.
The most widely used mantra is Om Gauri Shankaraya Namah (ॐ गौरी शंकराय नमः). Chant it 108 times when you first wear or install the bead. Some families chant Om Namah Shivaya instead, which is also accepted.
Monday is the best day to wear Gauri Shankar Rudraksha, as it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Mahashivratri, Shravan Mondays and your wedding anniversary are also considered auspicious days to begin.
The price of a Gauri Shankar Rudraksha depends on its origin, size, the shape of both halves, how natural the joint is and whether it is lab-certified. Nepali pairs cost more than Indonesian ones. Message us for the current price of certified pieces.
Both are genuine. A Nepali Gauri Shankar is larger, with deeper lines, and is preferred as a pendant or for the home temple. An Indonesian Gauri Shankar is smaller and lighter, which suits bracelets and malas. Choose by how you plan to use it.
Nepali Gauri Shankar Rudraksha comes in five grades: Regular, Premium, Super, Collector and Super Collector. Higher grades have a bigger bead, better shape, clearer lines and a cleaner surface. Every grade is genuine and comes with an RGTL report.
