- Cleanse it: Rinse in Gangajal or clean water and let it dry.
- Offer it: Offer water to the rising Sun, then keep the bead before Lord Shiva with a lit diya.
- Chant 108 times: ॐ क्रौं स्रौं रौं नमः (Om Kraum Sraum Raum Namah).
- Wear it: On the neck or right wrist.
