A 5 Mukhi Rudraksha Mala is the classic Rudraksha japa mala, strung with 5 Mukhi Indonesian (Java) beads. It carries the blessing of Kalagni Rudra and Jupiter, and is used for chanting Om Namah Shivaya and other mantras, and worn daily for a calm mind and good health. It is safe for everyone.
When people say “Rudraksha mala”, this is usually the mala they mean. The 5 Mukhi Rudraksha Mala, also called the Panchmukhi mala, is the most widely used japa mala in India. Saints, priests and everyday devotees all chant on it.
We make it from even, light Indonesian beads that are easy to count on and comfortable to wear for hours. The beads are sourced directly from Indonesia, where Aum Tatva has its own operations, and matched by hand.
The standard mala has 108 beads. We can also make it with 54, 72 or 81 beads on request.
Each bead belongs to Kalagni Rudra, a form of Lord Shiva, and is linked with Jupiter, the planet of wisdom. The five lines stand for Shiva’s five faces and the five elements. A full mala is the traditional tool for japa of any Shiva mantra.
Rudraksha supports your wellbeing alongside medical care. It does not replace a doctor’s advice or treatment.
To wear it: You can wear the same mala around the neck. Many people keep one mala for japa and another for wearing.
Care tips: Oil the beads lightly once a month and remove the mala before bathing with soap or swimming.
Cheap malas often mix in plastic, wooden or dyed beads. Check that the beads have natural lines, a slightly rough surface and natural brown colour. Every Aum Tatva mala is tested by RGTL (Rudraksha and Gems Testing Lab), an independent lab trusted by premium brands across India.
Aum Tatva has worked with Rudraksha since 2003, as part of the Aggarwal Rudraksha family, and sources directly in Indonesia. You can see and hold our malas at our showroom in Bhoopatwala, Haridwar.

A Panchmukhi Rudraksha Mala is a mala made of 5 Mukhi Rudraksha beads. It is the most common Rudraksha japa mala, used for chanting Om Namah Shivaya and other mantras.
A traditional japa mala has 108 beads plus one larger guru bead. Some malas have 54 or 27 beads for shorter practice.
Yes, you can. Many people prefer to keep one mala only for japa and wear a separate mala, but both ways are accepted.
Everyone can use a 5 Mukhi mala: men, women, children and elders. It is considered the safest Rudraksha.
The guru bead represents the teacher and the Divine. Tradition asks you to turn the mala around at the guru bead as a sign of respect, rather than crossing over it.
Check for natural lines and an unpainted, slightly rough surface on every bead. Buy a mala tested by an independent lab such as RGTL.
