A 5 Mukhi Indonesian Rudraksha is a natural five-faced Rudraksha bead grown on the islands of Indonesia, mainly Java. It is smaller, smoother and lighter than the Nepali bead, which makes it ideal for japa malas and everyday wear. Like every 5 Mukhi, it represents Kalagni Rudra and Jupiter and is worn for a calm, clear mind.
Small in size but complete in meaning, the 5 Mukhi Indonesian Rudraksha is the bead most japa malas in India are made from. It grows on Rudraksha trees on the islands of Java, Sumatra and Bali, where the warm, humid climate produces compact, smooth beads with fine, even lines.
Because it is light and comfortable, this is the 5 Mukhi people actually wear every day: on a mala, around the wrist or as a simple string. We source our Indonesian beads directly from Indonesia, where Aum Tatva has its own operations, and select each one for clean lines and a healthy surface.
Every 5 Mukhi, whatever its origin, carries the same spiritual identity. It belongs to Kalagni Rudra, the form of Lord Shiva who destroys ignorance and old karma. The Shiva Purana praises this bead for purifying the mind of the wearer.
Its five mukhis (natural lines) represent Shiva’s five faces and the five elements, or Panch Tatva. Its ruling planet is Jupiter (Guru), which governs knowledge, faith and good judgement.
An Indonesian 5 Mukhi carries the same deity, planet and mantra as a Nepali one. What changes is how it feels and how you use it:
If you want one large bead as a pendant, a Nepali 5 Mukhi may suit you better. If you want a mala for daily japa or a bracelet you never take off, the Indonesian 5 Mukhi is the practical choice.
Rudraksha supports your wellbeing alongside medical care. It does not replace a doctor’s advice or treatment.
We sort every 5 Mukhi Indonesian Rudraksha into five grades by bead size, shape, how clear the lines are, and surface and colour. Every grade is a genuine, natural bead with an RGTL report.
Not sure which grade suits you? Message us on WhatsApp and we will help you choose.
Using it as a japa mala: Hold the mala in your right hand and move one bead at a time with your thumb and middle finger. When you reach the larger guru bead (sumeru), turn the mala around instead of crossing it.
Care tips: Wipe the beads with a soft cloth and apply a drop of sandalwood or mustard oil once a month. Take the mala off before bathing with soap or swimming.
Indonesian beads are small, so their lines are finer and harder to read than on a Nepali bead. The common problems with cheap Indonesian beads are dyed or heavily polished beads, plastic or wooden copies mixed into low-cost malas, and lines filled with colour to look deeper.
Every single Aum Tatva bead comes with a report from RGTL (Rudraksha and Gems Testing Lab), an independent lab trusted by premium brands across India.
Aum Tatva has worked with Rudraksha since 2003, as part of the Aggarwal Rudraksha family that has been in this trade for generations. With our own operations in Indonesia, we buy directly at the source rather than through layers of traders.

Yes, Indonesian 5 Mukhi Rudraksha is real Rudraksha. It grows on the same Elaeocarpus tree family as Nepali Rudraksha, on the islands of Java, Sumatra and Bali. It is smaller and smoother because of the climate, not because it is a different or lesser seed.
Indonesian 5 Mukhi beads cost less mainly because they are smaller and grow in larger numbers. Nepali beads are bigger, with deeper lines, and are harvested in smaller quantities. The lower price makes Indonesian beads a practical choice for japa malas and bracelets.
Traditionally, both carry the same deity, planet and mantra, so both are considered effective. Many believe the larger Nepali bead has stronger energy because of its size. For daily japa and regular wear, an Indonesian bead worn with faith and care is a sound choice.
Yes, most 108+1 bead japa malas are made from Indonesian 5 Mukhi Rudraksha. The beads are light, smooth and even in size, which makes them easy to count on during long chanting sessions. A mala also lasts for years with simple oiling and care.
Indonesian Rudraksha comes mainly from the island of Java, with some from Sumatra and Bali. In the trade it is often called Java Rudraksha. Aum Tatva sources these beads directly from Indonesia through its own operations there.
Yes, women and children can wear 5 Mukhi Indonesian Rudraksha. It is one of the gentlest Rudraksha beads, with no restriction of age or gender. Its light weight makes it especially comfortable for children and for women who wear it every day.
Chant Om Hreem Namah (ॐ ह्रीं नमः) 108 times when you first wear the bead. If you use it as a japa mala, you can also chant Om Namah Shivaya or your own guru mantra on it.
Check that the five lines run naturally from top to base and that the colour is a natural, unpainted brown. Fake beads are often plastic, wood or dyed seeds. For full certainty, buy a bead tested by X-ray, such as one with an RGTL report.
The price of a 5 Mukhi Indonesian Rudraksha depends on bead size, how clear the lines are, surface quality and whether it is certified. For malas, the number of beads and how evenly they match also matter. Message us for current prices.
5 Mukhi Indonesian Rudraksha comes in five grades: Regular, Premium, Super, Collector and Super Collector. Higher grades have a bigger bead, better shape, clearer lines and a cleaner surface. Every grade is genuine and comes with an RGTL report.
