◌ CONSULT BEFORE BUYING

Some Rudraksha beads stand alone. The Gauri Shankar Rudraksha is born as a pair: two beads that grow fused together on the same stem, joined by nature and not by any hand. In this rare formation, devotees see the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, the divine couple whose bond is the ideal of every Hindu marriage.

The Nepali Gauri Shankar is the most sought-after form of this bead. Its two halves are larger and fuller, with clear natural lines on each side. At Aum Tatva, we source it from Nepal and have every piece X-ray tested, because this is one of the most widely faked beads in the market.

What is the significance of Gauri Shankar Rudraksha?

The Gauri Shankar is a living symbol of Ardhanarishvara, the form in which Shiva and Parvati share one body, half male and half female. It stands for the balance of Shiva (pure awareness) and Shakti (creative energy), the two forces that the scriptures say hold all of creation together.

Its ruling deities are Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Many astrologers associate it with the Moon, the planet of emotions, the mind and the mother. Because it does not belong to a single mukhi count, it is treated as a special bead rather than part of the 1 to 21 Mukhi series.

Why choose a Nepali Gauri Shankar Rudraksha?

Gauri Shankar beads grow in both Nepal and Indonesia. The Indonesian pair is small and light, and works well in a bracelet or a mala. The Nepali pair is larger, with deeper lines and a more defined joint between the two halves.

Traditionally, the Nepali Gauri Shankar is preferred as a single pendant or as a bead to place in the home temple, where its size and presence matter. It is also the form most families choose to gift at weddings.

What are the spiritual benefits of Gauri Shankar Rudraksha?

  • Traditionally worn to bring love, understanding and harmony between husband and wife
  • Believed to strengthen unity and peace within the whole family
  • Worn by those seeking a suitable life partner, with the blessings of Shiva and Parvati
  • Balances the Shiva and Shakti energies within, supporting deeper meditation
  • Helps soften ego and anger in close relationships
  • Kept in the home temple for a peaceful, devotional atmosphere

What are the health benefits of Gauri Shankar Rudraksha?

  • Traditionally believed to calm emotional stress and mood swings
  • Linked with the Moon, it is worn by many for a more settled, steady mind
  • Some wearers say it helps them feel less lonely or anxious
  • Like all Rudraksha, it is believed to have a gentle calming effect on the nervous system

Rudraksha supports your wellbeing alongside medical care. It does not replace a doctor’s advice or treatment.

Who should wear Gauri Shankar Rudraksha?

  • Married couples who want to deepen love and understanding
  • Those looking for marriage, as a bead of blessing for the right partner
  • Families going through misunderstandings or distance between members
  • Spiritual seekers working to balance the inner masculine and feminine
  • People with a weak or troubled Moon in their birth chart

It is also a meaningful wedding or anniversary gift.

Which grade of Gauri Shankar Rudraksha should I choose?

We sort every Gauri Shankar Rudraksha into five grades by bead size, shape, how clear the lines are, and surface and colour. Every grade is a genuine, natural bead with an RGTL report.

  • Regular: a genuine bead with clear lines. Best value for daily wear.
  • Premium: a better shape and sharper lines than Regular.
  • Super: a bigger bead with an even shape and deep, clear lines.
  • Collector: a rare, large bead with a near-perfect shape, rich colour and a clean surface.
  • Super Collector: the rarest pieces we find, the best in size, shape, lines and surface, picked one by one.

Not sure which grade suits you? Message us on WhatsApp and we will help you choose.

How to wear Gauri Shankar Rudraksha?

  1. Day and time: Start on a Monday, the day of Lord Shiva, in the morning after bathing.
  2. Purify: Rinse the bead in Gangajal or clean water, then let it dry.
  3. Offer: Place it before an image of Shiva and Parvati, or a Shivling, with flowers and a lit diya.
  4. Chant 108 times: ॐ गौरी शंकराय नमः (Om Gauri Shankaraya Namah). Some families chant ॐ नमः शिवाय (Om Namah Shivaya) instead; both are accepted.
  5. Wear or keep it: Wear it on the neck in a red or yellow thread, or with silver or gold capping. You can also keep it in a clean box in your puja room.

Do’s

  • Worship it with your partner on Mondays or special days such as Mahashivratri
  • Oil it lightly once a month to keep the joint and lines healthy

Don’ts

  • Do not wear it to funerals or while bathing with soap
  • Do not buy a Gauri Shankar without a lab report

How to identify a genuine Gauri Shankar Rudraksha?

We want to be honest: the Gauri Shankar is one of the most faked Rudraksha beads. The common trick is to take two ordinary beads, cut each one flat on one side and glue them together. To the naked eye, a good fake can look real.

  • A natural pair has a smooth, continuous joint, with the surface flowing from one bead into the other
  • A glued pair often shows a thin line of adhesive, a sharp edge or a colour change at the joint
  • An X-ray is the only reliable test: it shows whether the inner structure is naturally connected or simply stuck together

That is why every Gauri Shankar we sell comes with a report from RGTL (Rudraksha and Gems Testing Lab), an independent lab trusted by premium brands across India.

Where to buy original Nepali Gauri Shankar Rudraksha?

  • RGTL X-ray report with every Gauri Shankar
